FI WI ROAD 2021
FREEING UP FUTURES: THE BEGINNING
In 2021 the Fi Wi Road (Our Road): Freeing Up Futures for Black British Geographers was established through a grant from Antipode: A Radical Journey of Geography. With additional funding from the Royal Geographical Society and Black Geographers CIC our directors Prof. Pat Noxolo and Cynthia Anyadi developed a remote internship for 8 Black-heritage undergraduate students based across the UK.
Over a three month periods these interns worked together to develop their own paper on a theme of their choosing, which was ‘Black Sustainability’. The interns also supported in the running of the Society for Caribbean Studies Annual Conference, and the Royal Geographical Society Annual Conference.
