@ The Stuart Hall Archives

In July the interns had the opportunity to visit the University of Birmingham’s Stuart Hall Archives.

Stuart Hall was a Jamaican-British academic, writer, cultural studies pioneer, public intellectual and teacher. His writing continues to influence and shape discourses around race, identity, and diaspora experiences. Hall’s papers were deposited at the Cadbury Research Library in 2018 and opened in 2019. Consisting of 89 boxes the archive is a unique resource, and our interns were lucky enough to be guided by Rebecca Adams, the archivist, through some of its key materials.

Our trip to Birmingham was also the perfect opportunity to visit IKON Gallery, where we will be hosting this year’s fair, and were shown around by one of our own Fi Wi Road alumni, Regan McDonald.
